Altered Notepad

I love to use unique design notepads and notebooks. Do you?

When I take my notebook out from my bag and people turn around to take another look of it and  ask from where did I get it, and the wow factor when they get to know it's all handmade by myself.. Love the feeling :)

9. Pink cardstock - 250 GSM
10. Rock n Roll Prills

Steps to make -
Firstly, lets start with stamping of poinsettia flowers on flower shaping paper, you can make multiple flowers at once and keep them in your stash. I stamped the flowers and leaves with Versafine ink and heat set with Gold embossing powder. I did the same with Merry and Bright Accents. Then, colored them using sponge daubers.

Next is to die cut out the embossed flowers and accents and shape them using the flower shaping tool kit, mist your flowers with water and just follow the stamped lines on leaves and petals using the ball tool and shape them and add pearls to the center. For the accents just rotate the ball tool in the middle 3-4 times and they will start looking like 3 Dimensional.

Now, for the notebook/notepad, you will need 3 pieces of cereal box. 2 pieces should measure exactly 7" x 4 1/4" for front and back and 1 piece as 7 x 1/2 inch for the spine. This will give strength to the cover of notepad.

Next is to cut 8 1/2 x 11 inch pink cardstock and place the cereal box cutouts aligning the top and bottom leaving equal excess on all four sides and 1/4 inch between the panels and spine piece to give ease for folding. Now fold all the excess to the inside using a bonefolder to give clean edges. Take another piece of pink cardstock measuring
6 7/8 x 9 1/2 inch to cover the inside of the cover. Now, the hard base cover is ready for the notepad insert. You can also add a pocket in the inside of the front cover. For pocket cut another piece of pink cardstock measuring 2 1/4" x 4 3/4" and score it at 1/4" on 3 sides leaving a long side opening and paste it to the front inside cover.

Now is the fun decoration part.

I have cut 2 pcs from pattern paper measuring 4 3/8" x 6 7/8" and 1 piece measuring 1/2" x 6 7/8". Paste these on the front, spine and back of the outer cover.
Also, cut 1 3/4" x 4 1/8" of pattern paper to cover the pocket. 5"x 4 1/8" of pattern paper to cover the remaining part on the inside front cover.

Now cut 8" x 4 1/4" pattern paper to cover the notepad. Place double sided tape on front cover of notepad and align the pattern paper on bottom left and right side of the notepad hanging the excess on top and paste it. Take the excess over the the top to the back of the notepad and paste that too. Now apply lots of double sided tape on the back of the notepad and also apply art glitter glue and paste this notepad to the notepad cover. Make sure to use generous amount of adhesive here as this will hold the whole weight of notepad to the cover.

Lastly, you can cut some lace and sentiments from the paperpack to add to the notepad inside and outer cover.

And paste the flower, leaves and accents we made earlier. Also, add a bit of glitter using a sponge on flower, leaves and accents.

And your altered notebook is ready to flaunt.

This could look like a long process but trust me once you make one, you will get hold of it. It makes the best gift for your friends and family.

Hope you enjoyed !!

Do share in your makes. I would love to see them :)

Signing off for now
